Meowycakes Clothing Co. =^,,^=
Mindless fun for the day...
Okay Meowycakes fans & Knittyheads/KnittingCats - something I think everyone needs to run out and do (besides go yarn shopping): Go to Target, Walmart, AC Moore, Michaels, or craft/hobby supplier and purchase a bag of self-stick GOOGLY EYES Then, take said googly eyes and place them wherever you can think of -- but in a tasteful, fun manner - not obnoxious, not ridiculous... just somewhere that will not be overtly noticed but will require a second glance (and will probably provoke a giggle) I shipped out 7 bags of googly eyes to various friends of mine in the past week or so, with instructions to do the above. I stuck some on my boss's inbox slot last time I was in his office. (He saw them, knew it was me and left me a chuckling voice mail) Stuck some on the gas pump I was using at Wawa on Veterans Hwy(#12), about 3 weeks ago and they are still there as of today. Stuck some on my most often-used credit/debit card and the cashier @ Chick-Fil-A couldn't stop laughing. Stuck some on my neighbor's door when I got home from work on Friday and he just shook his head (with a smile on his face) when he saw me yesterday. Who doesn't love googly eyes?
WHen is a day off not a day off?
Welcome to my world. I know a lot of my homegrrrls have been messaging/emailing/chatting me to make sure I am okay and I really, really appreciate it. Thank you. I love all of you. I'm sorry I don't blog/post/chat/email as much as I'd like to or was able to earlier this summer, but I just can't seem to find the time. Maybe when things slow down at work, I can find a few extra moments.Speaking of work, I work a lot. Today is my 3 year anninversary with my employer and last night I was thinking how cool that was. Then I got a phone call this morning from one of my associates telling me that he could not come in today b/c he was still sick (which is understandable, I always want my staff to be at their best) ...only problem is that I was still asleep and I told him that I was not MOD today because I was off. He felt bad, and said that he'd try to reach my opening manager. I thought about who I was as a general manager. I love my job, love what I do because I am good at it. My staff tells me every day how much they love me, because I am the nicest boss ever. My customers give me hugs. And presents. They buy me ice cream. We are in the top 5 in our region in customer satisfaction scores for the last 2 months. I am giving 60 hours a week to my store, my staff and my customers and it seems like it still isn't enough, because I am told what I am doing wrong and where I need to "fix things" every other day, instead of celebrating the wins.Maybe I will go take a nap in the sun and tackle these issues tomorrow. What about some sushi and a run through my yarn stash while I'm at it?On a brighter note, we had fun last night at the Nationals/Giants game. Kevin, Mary, Robyn & I were in the Need Oxygen/Nosebleeds section but we had a great view and a wonderful time. (Hey the tickets were free, man) I am NOT a Nats fan but I love sporting events, tailgating parties and the energy that just eminates from the crowds. The smell of hotdogs (don't eat em, but I love the smell anyways), the scab merchandise vendors outside the stadium, the beer and soda vendors who holla back among the stands... I sat and worked 6 inches of my dropped-stitch scarf while other fans around me oohed & aaahed the yarn (Malabrigo) and asked me all kinds of q's about what I was making. I handed out those little flyers from the knitty website to people so I could do my part to promote the knitty.com love! Sunday, I am planning on dragging my ass to Dover to get in on the fun of my beloved NASCAR because I need to "keep it real". Or go mad. 3:30 am here I come! I'm going to put some pics up if I can get blogger & my camera to cooperate. chachacha, Anne

Some pics! I think I figured out WTF is up with my camera (besides the fact that I need a new one!)I had dropped it a few months ago and apparently something got knocked around in the memory card port, so now every couple of pics, there is a greenish smattering that ruins a random pic because the data wasn't processed properly. Mutha f**ka.
The one at the top is us at Richmond yesterday. Don't you just love all my lipstick being worn off? So sexy. The second pic is one of my berfday boxes - that was the one from Jaimi --- the card was hilarious, it had a crazy cat on the front andread "Celebrate your birthday as if the cake were a mouse..." and the third pic is my berfday flowers from my Stephygrrl - I was so tickled pink over the smiley mug :o) (also a good example of the greenish stuff that pops up in random pics)
I'm trying to post more, but Blogger keeps timing out on the upload so I'll try again later.
Must be a lotta webtraffic tonight, hm?

Pronunciation Key n. pl.
- A structural or behavioral characteristic peculiar to an individual or group.
Write down five or six of your own personal idiosyncracies. Then, if you wish, tag five people to do the same. Here goes mine (please don't laugh)
#1 - Toilet tanks. They scare me to death (long childhood phobia). I'm okay under normal living conditions, but if there is a need to have to go check under the tank cover or mess with the knobs or handle (other than flushing or cleaning) I would rather kill myself. Right now the tank cover currently in use in our bathroom has a chipped corner so I covered it up with a leopard print towel and a big magazine basket just so I could take care of daily business.
#2 - My cat, Angel, loves sports. We have whole conversations about NASCAR, football and hockey. Last night we came home from Richmond to find her food bowl tipped over and dumped out all over the kitchen floor because Ricky Rudd (her favorite driver) had wrecked in turn 2 around Lap 300. Her favorite football team is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and her favorite hockey team is the Detroit Red Wings... and I allow her to live under my roof? Sheesh.
#3 - Been a vegetarian for over 14 years. I don't mind if someone else eats meat in front of me and I don't mind cooking it for other people, it just doesn't appeal to me.
#4 - People who throw their cigarette butts out the window or spit on the pavement totally piss me off. The world is not your personal ashtray/spitoon, people. It's even worse when it hits my car.
#5 - Paper money has to face the same direction in my wallet and cash register.
#6 - I have to carry Band-Aids and mints/gum with me at all times. No matter what.
