Thank you and smooches to
MJ aka nerdcoop for my lovely wonderful surprise parcel today *faints* ...knittyboard public thanky here There were chocolate truffles, Louisa Harding Impressions yarn (holy schnikes - this stuff is so soft!!!!) and a *squee* pattern of that fantastic Modular Felted Backpack that Monkee whipped up last fall. My knitty friends are way too good to me, and I appreciate everything more that y'all could ever imagine. The kindness of knitters is just amazing and I feel so blessed to have such an amazing group of women within the reach or my laptop or my phone (still 98% text-only but Karen & Stephy have been keeping it real almost daily LOL) Love you guys - each and everyone of you knittyfamily peeps.
Noni bags! More Lorna's! And The Daytona Drive from Hell
Okay where do I start? 1846 miles from MD to Daytona Beach and back and effing Jimmie Johnson wins? I want my $ back.I wanted to blog on the road, but it was spotty WiFi at best and we were pirating our signal 98% of the time with me squatting in the back of the truck under a blankie because it was SO COLD LOL I went to Yarn Garden today and bought a few of those fantastic Noni bag patterns --- the ones that are sold out at Yarnzilla, plus some Cascade 220. I also bought some more Lorna's in Black Purl from yarnbow --- was trying to get more Bittersweet, but she was sold out for now....Now I just need time to actually knit. Because my sorry ass is working 6 days this week (and not by choice) so I am actually looking forward to my plane trip to Orlando next week to have time to knit, both in the airport and on the plane. But my trip is business, not pleasure so I hope I survive LOL --- it will be nonstop seminars and training classes and motivational speakers and woohoo - a Dolce & Gabbana luncheon. (I'm such a designer brand whore)
G'nite for now --- gonna go pet some yarn and try to get rid of this headache.
Out of town for 4 days
Morgantown, WV then ---- ROAD TRIP!!!!Daytona 500 BABY!
Just finished stuffing Charlie Murphy, gotta get gas and snacks and we are OFF TO SEE WONDERFUL THINGS!
Will try to blog from the road *snicker*
Also, if you get a sec - please click here so I get credits for free yarn for directing people to a cute LYS in Iowa... hee hee, thank you in advance! Woop!
Hi I'm sitting in Mommy's yarn basket
With her Clapotis.*purrrrs*
Happy Valentines Day!
Too tired to post, but I got a BANGIN' Dooney & Bourke mini purse filled with Lancome makeup from John.*swoon*My husband knows me so well.
I'm sucked in by the Lorna's Yarn Monster
I just won 2 auctions on eBay for Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport --- top is the infamous "Bittersweet" colorway, bottom is "Black Purl"...*sigh*I think I'll do a Mini-Clapotis because it looks like I won't have enough to do the 3-sk repeats (645 yds I believe is the requirement and I will have 440 yrds of each color) as the pattern calls for. Or I can do an alternating color scheme...
Pebbles sent me a pressie
I came home today to find a gorgeously wrapped parcel on my doorstep. (Who knew brown paper could look so sexy?)Read about it hereThank you so much Anne. You are an angel and I'm glad we are friends :)
I knitted another beanie out of Shinano #12 for a coworker because he was complaining about how knitted beanies never fit him (He's 28 but has a really small head) so I hope he likes it. The first one I made was from Kureyon #128 for one of my managers, but he gave it to his 18-month daughter instead because he says he "never wears hats".
Karen is entrusting me with her precious Coach "Jamie" frames, to be made into ultrasexy sunglasses - I finished cutting the lenses and shipped them out today to be coated so we should see the 100% finished product in a few days. That's the part of my job I love, the hands-on stuff.
I knitted 4 inches of my first sock - out of yarn that Rothane sent me along with teeny, tiny sz 2 Brittany birch DPNs --- then frogged it because I miscounted the K1P1 rounds about 2inches in and didn't catch it, so it looked like there was a jagged edge that was spiraling from where the stitch marker was placed to the top edge.
Is it really true that you aren't considered an accomplished knitter if you don't make a sock?
*growls*
I also joined the Yahoo CLapotis Knitalong group, but I dunno how much I'll be able to get into this project right now. I really, truly want one, but I can barely finish my damn beanies LOL so we shall see.
Lorna's Laces Sport in Sherbet is the front runner for this badboy, so hopefully I can find a good deal :)
Franco's Italian Army

Quickie!
Ever wake up with a migraine? That's me today. I hope I survive because we have an inspection tomorrow and I'm pulling another open to close to get everything ready. On another note, I had the opportunity to chat with the lovely Karen yesterday and she is even more fun IRL (sorta - we're still working on meeting face-to-face LOL) than in knitty chat. (There's a fun thread here on the knittyboards about our conversation LOL) I was having the most ridiculous day yesterday and I took a moment to pause and holla back to her and she made me feel better just by chatting about random stuff. Something about her conversational tone was soothing, and after I hung up I was able to focus on my task at hand a little better LOL. So thank you Miss CnK! Hope you and Beanie Baby (Tamara) have fun yarn shopping!
Still waiting for my awesome eBay yarn steal to arrive - heh heh go me. GGH Soft Kid - my 2nd fave fiber. (see pic above)
Okay, off to another 14-hr day and wish me luck on the big inspection visit!
