Megan Warter ~Nov. 23rd, 1986 - March 26, 2006
All of the Knittyheads have banded together to honor the life of fellow knittyhead Megan Warter aka punkrawker86 of Loveland, CO who passed away on Sunday. She will be buried tomorrow afternoon and will be missed terribly by her knitty family. Please say a prayer or have a moment of silence for her & her family this evening. Many thanks to the awesome Miss Stephy who oversaw getting together a Megan fund for flowers and a donation in her honor to her favorite charities - it is so good to know that people whom you've never met IRL can be so close-knit (no pun intended) at the drop of a hat.

Heh heh heh...
So after all the wedding fun and crap.... oh, did I tell you I was in a wedding last week? Okay, details later in the post... I'm back to work. And still tired!!!! I know I always seem to sound like I'm whining and I apologize but for those of you who know me IRL - I really do work too much and don't sleep enough. Today is a day off and I had planned to do absolutely nothing (except get to the post office for Faerynuff and Ali LOL) except eat and knit.
It snowed yesterday!
Snow!!!
GAH!
*looks for fuzzy bedroom slippers*
Oh yeah, I bought a swift and ball winder on Monday. Can I just tell you how effing addicted I am to yarn cakes now? *cackles evilly*
I wound a bunch of my Cascade and Lorna's so far and OMFG it is so much more space saving that the piles of yarn just stuffed into totes...
I also bought a punch embroidery needle, floss and some aida cloth. To add to my crafting stash. Like $60 worth of floss LOL (at 8 sk for a $1... that's 480 sk. of embroidery floss!!!) --- but I also make friendship bracelets so it isn't totally out of the realm of reasonable.
Let's see:
Yarn
Beads
Origami paper
Rhinestones
Glitter
Embroidery floss
Hello Kitty
Tissue paper
Stickers
...my crafting stash is taking on a life of its own!
Wedding details. I have no photos yet, but I will post as soon as I get my hands on some.
Thursday - Atlantic City. Bachelorette party = Michelle (bride), Emily (maid of honor), Rachael, Debbie and myself (3 out of 4 bridesmaids) We stayed at the Tropicana and went to strip clubs. I got my nails and toes done at the bluemercury spa.
Friday - Rehearsal (which I missed b/c we got back from AC wayyy too late and I still had a 90-min drive from home to the church and it was 210 minute drive due to shitty traffic and 4 accidents) then rehearsal dinner at Buca di Beppo's. John & I decided last minute to gank one of the discount rate hotel rooms Chad (groom) set up for people at Homestead for 2 nights to help alleviate the stress of having to make that drive back and forth. So we left BdB at 9:15 and made it back to the hotel by 11 and then I proceeded to stay up to steam/iron my dress and John's suit. I also had to finish some alterations and to fix my Roxy flipflops so my ass didn't get to bed until 3:30 am. Yes, I had Roxy flipflops with rhinestones glued to the tops. So sue me. *wink*
Saturday - Michelle's parents' home by 10:15am to help Shelli get ready and to have pictures taken. 1:30 pm - limo to the church, ceremony at 2. I had been briefed on where to walk and all that in the span of 3 minutes, so I thought I did a damn fine job overall.
3:00 - ceremony over, have 2 hrs to kill before reception, so we drive to Dan's parents' house for me to take a quick nap while John & the G-town posse play a cash game of poker.
5:00 - reception hall. Nothing interesting to say except that the 15 centerpieces I made the week before (again staying up til 3 am on the 13th to have them delivered to the hall the next day) were a huge hit. I wish I could do that kind of stuff professionally - get paid fabulously to create things. Artsy crafty things :)
One side comment - I had SO MUCH makeup on I felt like a drag queen. Well, it felt like I had that much on, but I still think I looked great LOL.

...smiles.That's what I need right now, because in case y'all didn't hear... I'm sick yet again. Doc thinks it was the plane ride back from Orlando and I now have a raging case of strep and an oozing ear infection. Mutha effer... I am so tired of all this illness. I know it's stress too, and there is absolutely squat I can do about it right now. So for the next ten days I get to nibble on 60 amoxicillin capsules and pray that the green phlegm monster or the itch down below does not outrank my current woes.Which brings me to my next random thought - I started my Lorna's Laces Clapotis. That yarn is such a dream, it knits so beautifully! Y'all have to see the whole Knitty forums dedicated to this pattern LOL
*drool*
Just some eye candy til I get my routine back in swing. Just got back from Orlando.
ENJOY!
