Reset my Yarn Focus Challenge ticker
Grrrrr. I couldn't resist. I couldn't wait one more effing day LOL
I just bought 10 balls of Rowan 4 ply cotton in the colorway "Ripple" from eBay for $49 bucks, shipped from the UK.
Bitches. I would have waited for my Free Yarn Day which I prolly could have used tomorrow, but the auction ended about 3 hours ago while I was at work and I had bid $50 USD/22 GBP last night not really thinking I'd win. Shows me what I know hahahahahaha
I was at 1 month, 3 weeks and 5 days til today....
But really, I'm not complaining - Rowan 4 ply is about $6-6.80 a ball at my LYS so I got a good deal *wink*

Not much time to blog today - gotta take care of real life, but here's a little snippet. I found this on Jordana Paige's blog.

Richmond was a hoot!
Dale Jr. won!
Whatta fabulous race - we were screaming all the way from the start of the race to the finish.
*grins*
John & I got to the track around 10:30 am and set up a little retreat right in Lot J6 LOL
We grilled burgers, I napped & knitted, he read his books and we met some very nice people from State College, PA - they were camped right behind us in a yellow H3 Hummer. Race started at 7:40 pm and we were just chill the rest of the night.
And Jr. won!
Just ordered my Roxycraft.com Amigurumi cr*ch*t patterns --- ooh can't wait to try them out ;)
Click on the link in the sidebar to look at a few more--- cute & cheap! I think I will make some as baby rattles and smaller versions as zipper pulls.

"...So, all this lead me to come up with a LYS Meme. Having usually not participated in Memes I'm not sure if such a topic exists. I will start it off and Tag 5 others. I'll try to pick people I know have LYS's to visit. If you choose to randomly tag people and they don't have a LYS near them, just advise them to pass it on.
Here goes:
1)What's your favorite LYS? : Stitch DC - Capitol Hill
2)What about it do you like most?: It's so funky yet fresh. The shop is set directly across the street in historic Barracks Row in DC and is in walking distance from the Metro and several good restaurants.
3)What is your 2nd favorite?: My 2nd favorite would have to be The Yarn Garden.
4)What would you improve about it to make it a tie with your first?: Bigger sales floor area & less clutter, although I know in Annapolis, that shopping center has space at an absolute premium.Also open past 5 pm during the week, not just Thursdays would help. Alex and her crew are other wise perfect and we love the store :)
5)What's the last thing your bought at your #1 LYS? 3 skeins of Noro Kureyon in colorway #102

These are a collection of piccies I had taken (urp!) last year, but I misplaced the memory card because I am a dork. They are (back then) WIPs of my first Cleaves that I gifted to Stephy last summer (it's Lambs Pride Bulky in Lotus Pink) and the other WIP is the Stitch N Bitch Meema's Marsupial Tote that I gifted to my MIL for Mothers' Day 2005
Angel wanted to knit a few rounds of the first sleeve.
This was when I started the second sleeve. I actually completed the project during the spring Richmond NASCAR race last year LOL
Pre-felted Marsupial Tote.
This was while we were driving to Fairfax, VA to see Duran Duran during the Astronaut Tour last year - I knitted while we were on the Capitol Beltway.

What are you doing for Cinco De Mayo? Me? The Volvo Ocean Race - Annapolis
And knitting. I am going to take my butt down to the docks at Annapolis, plant my BG hiney down in a beach chair with my yarn and look at boats. For at least a little while, because I have stuff to do later in the day, and I missed out on all the Volvo Ocean Race festivities up in Baltimore this past week *grrrrr*
In addition to NASCAR and the Volvo Ocean Race...did I tell you I'm also a closet timbersports freak? Oh yeah I revealed that on my other blog. *mutters "redneck"*
These are two of my tickets to the Richmond Nextel Cup race on Saturday. I actually have them in my posession because I am a subscriber, unlike when we hauled freezing ass to Daytona, where I had to pick them up at Will-Call
And yes, that's Kasey Kahne printed on the ticket. He's sorta cute, but I still love Mikey and Carl better.
I am almost 3" into the back piece of Lift & Separate. It look so pretty even though it's just boring stockinette stitch. But it's the yarn that makes it look beautiful - Cashmerino Dk has such a soft sheen - I can't wait to get this damn thing finished so I can wear it LOL I also looked at my Orangina cast-on. I am 3 rows into this. I'm trying to master skp but I keep having brain farts so I need to refer to KnittingHelp.com videos from time to time

Elizabeth/veritas sent me two more jars to add to my brown savory goo collection aka Marmite/Vegemite/Promite as her side of a swap we did for my Spring/Summer 06 Rebecca #31 magazine.

Whew! I've been up since 5:30 am and it's been a long, ridiculous effing day. I need to eat, shower and get some sleep - long weekend ahead of us.
