Click me.How funny is that? It's the Japanese 7-Eleven homepage. And this is the one for Thailand.Denmark.And Mexico.I don't know why I am so fascinated by this stuff, but I am.Big awesome thank yous to Maura aka Knitting Nomad- formerly lumen2002 who shipped me a "from Japan with love" care package full of Hello Kitty goodness plus yummy Adzuki bean KitKats and the most fun pompom making kit. It was the perfect antidote to a shitty week of whining customers and bitching staff... I will have to treat her and her hubby to a tasty dinner when they arrive in MD next month - apparently moving to Takoma Park (wheee!)
Can I gripe for a sec?
Like I don't already, but hey - I figured I'd be polite. I have a flare-up of effing tendonitis in my right hand. Specifically, my thumb, along the radial nerve. I went to grab a stack of Rubbermaid totes off a shelf the other day and felt it tweak and ever since then it has swelled up and been hurting like the dickens everytime I flex or move or put pressure. I had the original issue back in 1997, and was given a compression splint, an Rx for 800 mg of ibuprofen every 4 hours, and orders not to use that hand for repetitive task motion or heavy lifting for 2 weeks. Flared up once again back in 2001, did same regimen. So I've been doing pretty good, average of 4-5 years between episodes LOLBut now, this just pisses me off because for those of you who know what I do for a living, know that I use both thumbs every day for precision tasks. (I'm ambidextrous, but I have more strength most days in my right hand ever since I had my left hand slammed in a car door back in high school and an operation to remove cysts) Not to mention knitting and beading, although I haven't had time to do much of either lately.
And I need a haircut. And my nose is running b/c my allergy drugs have decided to take a holiday today.
The good news is that my pink eye is almost cleared up! Yay!
And now my ass is back...
...with pink eye.
Bitches.
So did y'all miss me while I was gone? (LOL! I wasn't blogging, but I was still chatting from the road at the Coffeeshop and SubSpot)
Back to work. I'm stuck in the workaholic phase again, so a week off did nothing for me except afford me to sleep til 8:30 instead of my usual 6 am *sigh* I'm trying to keep my spirits up by working on my Lift & Separate, Orangina and designing a cute (and ridiculously easy) pullover to see if my knitting has become any more advanced hahaha
The kittens are growing bigger every day. Clamshell has learned the fine art of screen door climbing so he and Mathers always greet me around 8 pm (or whenever I get home if it's a closing shift) banging on the back sliding door. Johnsonville has taken to hissing at me whenever I get close to her but I can manage to grab her for a sec every now and then.
Little bitch.
So now I am back up to 8 kats:
- Slinky Baby (grandma of J'ville & Clamshell, momma to Mascara, Patchy, Mathers)
- Mascara (father of J'ville & Clamshell - I just found out last week "she" is really a "he" when he turned around, lifted tail and showed me his business LOL)
- Patchy Baby (momma of ^^)
- Mathers
- Slinky Gray Baby
- Clamshell
- Johnsonville
- Angel's Evil Twin
I've lost track of Foo, Deez Nuts, Marshall and Crunk. Hope they are okay. Please help out these awesome charities... It costs you nothing except a moment of your time! :)And
Thanks! Will be back later!

Double thanky!
So my ass is finally on vacation
I think I am just going to sleep for a week. Will be blogging from the road -- apparently Mr. Sneaky thought I couldn't figure out what we were going to be doing on vaca *coughpokertournamentscough* so as soon as I pick up my car from oil change and tire rotation heaven, we are off to AC for a few days!

Branston Pickle love
Yeah, did it again - found more UK treats that I don't have easy access to... Gill shipped me a parcel yesterday of snackage that included a big jar of Branston Pickle. (I had posted on the knittyboards a few weeks ago for help in acquiring some - post)
What is it, you say?
Think of it as a sort of BBQ sauce with lots of tangy vegetable chunks. Very savory. Since y'all know I love Vegemite & Marmite already, this was almost a natural progression. I'll be back later with actual knitting content but I have to run to work now...
Cha cha is a genius
She found this t-shirt link, and I haven't stopped laughing since I saw it.
