Help
Bezzie's brother out please!
Ganked from Bezzie's blog:
"...Yeah you can choose from Old Man McCain or My Initials Are the Same As Body Odor Obama, or you can write in a certain cartoon mouse. But that election isn't until November.Instead why not vote for my Younger Youngest Brother's entry to win four new tires? He isn't old and he doesn't smell. I promise. If you click here and click on the star-rating for the picture entitled Alaska Sled Dog Boot Camp--he'll be one step closer to winning those tires. And hey, if you don't vote for him, it's a cute picture of my sister in law (the newly pregnant one that I've got to get knitting for soon) and their first "baby," Crispy, the Jack Russell.Ahhh...makes me hate this hot Lower 48 weather just looking at all that snow!!!This blog post paid by supporters of Bezzie's Younger Younger Brother for tires...."

Knit In Public Day!
I did my part! LOLNo piccies since I was too lazy to attempt to knit, click and stay cool. Just been that kind of week.I worked on my other Executive Funk cuff and the Leaf Tie Cardi - two WIPs that have been languishing for the past few weeks - and ran some errands. Nothing special, except I have more homework and a test this weekend. Blah.On the other front - Lush Annapolis is open!Wooooo - now almost all my favorite non-yarn stores are in one placeSephora, Nordstrom, Bare Escentuals, Crocs, Body Shop, Borders...too bad I HATE going to the mall if I'm not scheduled to work.Off like a prom dress - would you believe I haven't eaten lunch or dinner because I have lost track of all time today? I'm going to go forage some noodles or rice.later gatorroxy

PSA for Miss Ru
(Ruth & Val, at Pam's home this past May, after MD S&W)She's walking in the Komen Race for The Cure this Saturday in D.C. and had an initial fundraising goal of $850, which was reached with help from a few awesome knittyheads and family friends as of this morning...Not too shabby for a single person participating as her own team! I'd like to ask everyone to take a moment and click thru to her tracking page and maybe possibly help her exceed her goal? She's an amazing, caring person and though not a knitter/crocheter (her mom Jane is - very talented) she has enough love and laughter that we'd mistake her for one!Good luck Ruth! We're cheering for you!:)~rox
Bezzie and Jas keep me in googlys
Those crazy chicas. In the last few weeks, both ladies have been on googly eye patrol in the name of Roxy...Jas found this through a Ravelry stash page --------------------><------------ Bezzie found this through Craftzine.
Toooooo funny!
So I've done a little bit of knitting in the past few weeks.
I completed one of the Executive Funk cuffs last Friday, and started #2 Sunday.
It's actually a lot easier than my first attempts, the lace charts practically worked themselves out... next time I will use a more solid yarn though b/c I wasn't happy with the color pools/stripes in this since it obscured the lace repeats. Oh well *shrug* - live and learn.
STR Rock Star is a really happy color though - I need to make more things with it.... like socky socks LOL
Illiane's Emergency Knitting bag really makes me smile though - between that and my Monkey Bags, I'm pretty set for portable knitting these days ;)
Summer classes are going okay - I have less actual homework than I did during the spring, but I think I need to kick it into high gear again in the fall. I just want to get honest, decent grades as quickly as possible, so I can move to the next level! If I continue at this pace, depending on which optometry college I transfer to... it will take me 24 semesters to become Dr. Roxy. (this is based on 8-11 credits per semester, where I have to be at 3.4 GPA or better) Unfortunately, even with maxing out my student loans, I can't cut my paycheck. The classic Catch-22... I need to get through school to become a doctor but I can't cut my work to concentrate on school FT. Makes me cranky, because I just want to make up for lost time.
I picked up the needle felting bug also a few weeks ago - a kit I bought from MD S&W featured Korean kittens.
So me.
This is the finished product:
I almost looked at spinning, after playing with those tufts of roving, but I can't allow myself to get sucked in. I just don't have the time or money LOL
My crafts are knitting, sometimes crochet, beading, punch embroidery, origami and now needle felting. I wanted to start drawing and painting again, but that falls into to no time/no money category as well. I do need to start my exercise regimen again , not only to get back into shape, but to try and get my energy levels back up again.
So that's it for now. I'm making vegetarian eggs florentine for dinner and waiting out this nasty storm system that is rolling through. I'll be back later this week (hopefully) to try and get a regular blog roll going again LOL
A little PSA for the Philly people & surrounding areas
Sharon's got a mailing list for the Rose Family Clinic now - go take a peek :)
